Christmas Week: Check!

During a normal week, I teach on my own each day. It's usually just me and the kids. I do the best I can with the parents' questions and assume that they are communicating with the boss via the phone when they have an issue. This week we celebrated Christmas every day. Instead of the normal schedule, we combined everything and moved things around so that Kerry and I did each day together. It was stressful for many reasons. But it also went better than I was hoping it would. I planned each day's "party lesson" and we played games and did worksheets. We sang songs and made snowflakes. Some times there was food from the parents. Usually for Christmas, the boss has everyone over to her house for food and such, but because of her father's illness, she did not do that this year. Which turned out to be a good idea because her father passed away this week. But now, it's all done! I'm in vacation for two weeks! HOORAY! I leave on Wednesday morning for Thailand. Now, as I've said, I'm very excited and nervous for this trip, as it is my first solo travel experience. However, 2 things have me even more nervous. The first is that I'm not sure I'll be allowed out of Japan. We're not sure if my working visa is complete or still being processed. The second is that I was counting on getting paid before hand, and now due to my boss dealing with a funeral, who knows. Oh, and the Thailand protests. I'm a bit stressed about things, but also not really. I'm sure things will work out.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2014! I can't believe how fast time goes! It's amazing!

It snowed today. For about 45 minutes. It's currently 1 degree C, so about 34 degrees F.

I love you. I miss you.

December

I hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. I made myself a real dinner: chicken, potatoes, salad and watched Rent.

Things are good. Standard. Getting ready for Christmas parties and wrapping things up for vacation. I'm getting excited about Thailand and hope the protests die down.

The weather here is great. When the sun's out, its been about 50. It's about 30 at night, but the day time is wonderful.

I made a dream catcher out of chopsticks.

I can't believe how fast time is going. Happy end of 2013! I hope everyone is safe and warm this winter and have a wonderful holiday season.
