China?

Let's see, from Chicago to Vancouver, I got bumped up to economy plus, so I was near the front of the plane and had a little more leg room. My flight from Vancouver to Beijing was delayed for three hours, so they gave us a lunch voucher for the airport. There was noone sitting next to me on that flight, so I could stretch out a little. Because of the delay, I missed my connection to my city. They got me a new one though and I made it. Got picked up. They put us in a hotel where we'll be for a few weeks because they are remodeling the house things I guess. I have a roommate from Denmark. I have a meeting today and then I guess the kids start on Monday. I'm freaking out a little about my choice to return to Asia, but I'm trying very very hard to stay calm and postitive. I think that when I get some food and sense of my life, it'll be better. But at the moment, I'm freaking out. No worries, as a little bumblebee pointed out to me recently, time goes much faster in Asia, it's science. No, I have not resorted to talking to insects. Just SaraClark. I appreciate everyone's support and I know I'll be ok. I'm just in a bit of a panic at the moment. No worries. On another note, thoughts and love to Karen and her family, as her father just passed away after a long battle with cancer. I miss Mowgli.

August 29th

I have had a wonderful summer. Last week, I got my ticket and visa. I am flying out of Chicago on August 29th, 2012. I will be moving to Shenyang, China until Summer, 2013. I am planning on keeping this blog up and running, however I am unsure about the internet rules there. If gmail does not work, (katiedale09@gmail.com) you can email me at (kadale09@yahoo.com) However, I will only check the yahoo one if google does not work. I also do not know about the availability of facebook, twitter, and all the other sites that we use to stay in touch. I'm banking on skype working. (kadale09) Now you know.

Let's see. A few weeks ago, Ian came to the farm for a week. We had a really good time. Kyle and Milli, my drinking buddies from Wooster were able to come out for a weekend and we had quite a party on the farm. I traveled to Michigan and hung out in Grand Rapids with family. I went to a wedding of two Wooster Swimmers and saw many more. I was able to get down to Illinois to see Karen and her family. Mom and Dad took Ethan to college this week. He's all moved in and doing well I think.

That's really it. I'm leaving the 29th. Let me know if you want to hang out. WOAH!

Two weeks!!

I just got home from a week on the beach in North Carolina with Molly and Jess. We had a great time. After that I went up to Toronto for a week with Ian. We had a blasty-blast. Good times with great friends. Don't know what else is in store for the summer, but I'm excited!!

My Last Weekend in the ROK

A large chunk of meat and the chefs.
Well, it's here. My last weekend in Korea happens to be a three day weekend for Buddha's Birthday. So happy birthday to him. On Friday I went to my favorite Korean meal, dukgalbi with SaraClark and SaraBrown. Then I went to say hello to Yoanna. Next I traveled to Underground to say goodbye to Sunny, the first Korean "friend" I had. Surprise surprise instead of the easy, early night I was planning, I got home at about 5am. I got up Saturday and packed a lot of toys up to take to some friends who live in the back part of Suji. They happen to have a roof, so we had a pool party. It was really fun. Sunday we were going to repeat the experience, but it was stormy, so we did a movie day instead. Today, Monday, it was also stormy so I slept way in (til 1) then I packed and cleaned all day. SaraBrown came over for a bit to watch me and hopefully not judge me too much. I fell pretty good about the attempt made today. I'll totally have to repack about 75 more times, but we're getting there. Four more days of work. I'm in for a busy week. Tying things up at work, packing, cleaning, goodbye dinners. States on Saturday. THIS IS SO WEIRD.

Anton and I celebrating that Korea now has Doritos!

Not sure about this pose...
Pool time.

Cool sky!

The last of my group.

Izell and I shortly before I retired to the couch for a 6 hour nap, which ended at 2am. Just in time to watch Rugby and learn a little more about South Africa from Fracois and Anton.

Sunday Movie day.
