I'm back in China after a 41 day break. It was AMAZING. I had a great time! In order to keep track of the day, as to not miss any flights and other important things, I kept track of the days by writing two to four words for each day. 1/15- Arrive in Phnom Penh.
1/16- Amercian Embassy, Scuba place, Mexican food
1/17- Killing Fields, Tul Sleng Museum
1/18-Safari, feeding elephants, Ian!
1/19-taxi to Shinoukville, diving movies
1/20-dive in the pool, class, quzzes
1/21-dive in the pool, exams
1/22-OVERNIGHT BOAT DIVING TRIP!
1/23-BOAT DIVING TRIP!
1/24-beach day-playing, reading
1/25-beach day, ran into Brendon, sleeper bus to Siem Reap
1/26-Siem Reap- Angkor Wat, The Bayon, Ta Promh
1/27-Siem Reap-pool day, night market
1/28-Ian Left, Went with Brendon to Ankgor Wat and smaller temples
1/29- Watched T.V in the air con all day
1/30-Angkor Wat for sunrise, pool day, sleeperbus to Shinoukville
1/31-Beach Day!
2/1-Pool and laundry ($.75/1kg)
2/2- Boat day- snorkeling, jungle/river walk, white sand beaches
2/3-Beach day!
2/4-Beach day! Ran into Chris on the beach
2/5-Morning in the pool, Bus to Phnom Penh, crazy traffic for king's cremation
2/6-Go to Kuwait
2/7-watch tv, use the internet, see SOPHIA!, American Embassy Happy Hour
2/8-breakfast, shopping, murder mystery party, home made wine
2/9-Watched Harry Potter, went to Souk and Ahmadi (outdoor markets with hummus!)
2/10-Went to school, interviews, Amusement parks rides!
2/11-did laundry, made dinner and cupcakes that looked like turtles, planned for Sri Lanka
2/12-walked, book store (uh-oh), saw a new baby, Mexican food!
2/13-breakfast for dinner, Watched Pitch Perfect
2/14-ValentinesDay at the Kuwait Towers, Fly to Sri Lanka
2/15- Arrive in Colombo, taxi to Kandy
2/16-Kandy City Tour-Elephant orphanage, spice garden, temples, culture show
2/17-Train to Ella, Tuktuk to Thissa
2/18- Sunrise Safari at Yala National Park-(elephants, leopards, birds, monkeys), first time in the Indian Ocean, travel to Hikkaduwa
2/19- Beach day, learned that sunscreen that does not specifically state to be water and sweat proof does NOT work, Gin Rummy
2/20-Beach, more crap sunscreen, theme night for curry dinner
2/21-Beach, beer, Kings in the Corner
2/22-Beach, shopping(artwork, pants), tattoo, packing
2/23-Train to Colombo, Tuktuk to Negombo, Boat ride, Midnight flight to China
2/24-CHINA.
Books I read: Girl in Translation, Caught, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, Sister, Outlander, Hell's Angels, Voices from S-21, Hunger Games, The Zahir, Birdsong, Stay, The Devil and Miss Prym, King's Gold, In the Garden of Beasts, Thirty Three Teeth.
It was a great trip with great people. I can't wait to show you all of my pictures! Semester two starts Friday...yay!?
